"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

About the Church...

The Four Areas of Focus express the vision and yearnings of the people of The United Methodist Church. Over this quadrennium, the church will seek to focus the work of making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world around these areas of ministry:

  • Combating the diseases of poverty by improving health globally.
  • Engaging in ministry with the poor.
  • Creating new places for new people and revitalizing existing congregations.
  • Developing principled Christian leaders for the church and the world.

About the Pastor...

Senior Pastor Jeff Bobin was born in 1957 in New Brighton, PA and was raised between two small towns called Wampum and Koppelis. He is a husband, father, and step father who loves to read, travel, coach, teach and consult. He is currently serving Venango & Cambridge Springs United Methodist Churches.
"I love the country, but like the culture available in the city. There is nothing like trying something new and I love adventure. We should all try to think outside the box more."

Hebrews 13:5
"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ďI will never leave you nor forsake you.Ē"

Membership Vows in the United Methodist Church

From the United Methodist Book of Worship Introduction
Brothers and sisters in Christ:
Through the Sacrament of Baptism we are initiated into Christís holy church.
We are incorporated into Godís mighty acts of salvation and given new birth through water and the Spirit. All this is Godís gift, offered to us without price.
Through confirmation, and through the reaffirmation of our faith, we renew the covenant declared at our baptism, acknowledge what God is doing for us, and affirm our commitment to Christís holy church.
On behalf of the whole church, I ask you:
Do you renounce the spiritual forces of wickedness, reject the evil powers of this world, and repent of your sin?
I do.
Do you accept the freedom and power God gives you to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves?
I do.
Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior, put your whole trust in his grace, and promise to serve him as your Lord, in union with the church which Christ has opened to people of all ages, nations, and races?
I do.
According to the grace given to you, will you remain faithful members of Christís holy church and serve as Christís representatives in the world?
I will.
Do you believe in God the Father?
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
Do you believe in Jesus Christ?
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body.
Remember your baptism and be thankful.
As members of Christís universal church, will you be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church, and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?
I will.
As members of this congregation, will you faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness?
I will.

Deuteronomy 23:21-23
"When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth."

Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. "
